I am a PhD student in stem cell biology from LKS Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong & Centre for Translational Stem Cell Biology.
Currently, I am working in Dr Rio Sugimura's lab using time-series single-cell RNA sequencing and 10x Visium spatial transcriptome to study early hematopoiesis in EPSC-derived human embryonic organoids (HEMO). We aim to decipher the (extra)embryonic regulation on human hematopoiesis in our in vitro model. I am also working with Dr Yuanhua Huang on single-cell computational analysis of CRISPR/Cas9-based cellular lineage tracing system. We are establishing a new pipeline for dissecting the CRISPR barcodes and reconstruct the lineage tree with CARLIN (Cell, 2020) and KP-Tracer (Cell, 2022) datasets. We hope that our pipeline could be useful to all CRISPR-based molecular barcoding system.
I received my Master of Medical Sciences in Molecular Neuroscience from HKUMED and Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology from Chongqing Medical University. I did my undergraduate final year project in Prof Shan Bian’s lab in Tongji University, using CRISPR-Cas9 to construct human ESC double reporter line and study the molecular alterations after brain injuries. During the time I was surprised to see such a plate of cell chunks growing into mini brains with sophisticated structures in a dish. This experience oriented me to stem cell research ;)
